UN Women’s Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the occasion of 16 days of activism in the fight against violence against women, launches the campaign “You Are Not alone” on social media supported by traditional media in BiH, with the aim of raising public awareness of the importance of gender-based violence. Violence against women and girls will be presented as a matter of social justice and as a matter of human and civil rights.
The campaign of 16 days of activism is used as an organization strategy worldwide by individuals and groups, as a call to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls. The campaign begins on November 25th, on the International Day Against Violence against Women, and ends on December 10th, on the International Human Rights Day.
UN Women will display two different foreign stories of violence. On the one hand, stories of survivors, who can send a strong message on how to recognize gender-based violence, and how to seek help and support. On the other hand, the campaign will be presented by experts, women and men, who fight against gender-based violence on a daily basis as well as on prevention of it. The goal, highlighting the stories of the survivors as well as the workers’ stories, highlight the achievements and obstacles that both sides had to overcome.
Violence is a problem of the whole society and should not be invisible.
